Futures Spread Trading
Date & Time:
Friday, June 2, 2017 14:30 MDT » 16:30 EDT
Craig Turner will discuss the benefits of trading Futures Spreads and how it can be done using fundamentals, seasonality, and technical analysis.
Futures spreads can be a way to trade the markets directionally while reducing exposure to systemic risk. Many calendar spreads have more liquidity than the outright contracts.
Traders can also use futures spreads to see the trends in market structure which could provide insights to where the "outrights" may move next.
In his June 2nd webinar, Craig will cover the following:
- 1. Why Trade Futures Spreads
- 2. Why in theory a spread should follow seasonality more than "outrights"
- 3. Cost of Carry and how it can help you pick bottoms in grain spreads
- 4. How to know if margin reductions are appropriate for the spread you are trading
- 5. When to use a stop and when to use a stop on close
- 6. Why old crop gains on new crop even when the bull story is in new crop
