Saturday, January 12, 2013 09:00 MST » 11:00 EST
Our guest speaker for the Saturday, January 12th Denver Trading Group meeting will be Dr. Paul Thomas. His presentation will be in two parts:
Part 1: "The Neurology behind the Psychology of Trading"
The psychology of trading has been a hot topic for the last 10 years. Many books have been written about the topic and all share an underling theme. In order to be successful, a trader needs to be disciplined, trade without fear, have a winning mind set, think like a winner, and never trade while angry. This is a partial list someone could create if they read the many books on the topic. BUT, the one thing they all fail to do is explain why traders lose their discipline, trade with fear, lose their winning mind set, think negatively, and trade angry. To answer the question why traders lose their composure while trading, you need to look at the neurology behind the psychology of trading..
Dr. Paul Thomas, a professional trader and board certified functional neurologist, will share with you the neurology behind the psychology of trading. He will explain the 4 major mistakes traders make that can cause them to lose their self-control and discipline. He'll share with you what he observed over the years as he studied traders as they rode their personal emotional roller coaster and some simple changes you can make to keep you in the game.
Part 2: "Currency Trading: Forex or Futures?"
Trading the Forex Spot market has grown in popularity over the last decade. Trading the spot market has some advantages and disadvantages over the Futures currency market. Come and learn how to navigate around the disadvantages and maximize the advantages.
